INDENTURE WITNESSETH that in pursuance of the said agreement

He the said Vincent John Stanton hath freely and voluntarily

granted released and conveyed and by these presents do th

freely and voluntarily grant release and convey unto the said

Lord Bishop and his successors ALL THAT the said lot piece or

parcel of land and hereditame nts in Victoria aforesaid which

were granted by Her present Majesty in or about the year of

our Lord One thous and eight hundred and forty five to the said

Vincent John Stanton and which are situate and lie on the

Eastern side of the City of Victoria immediat el y behind and

abutting upon the Hill commonly called and known as Pedder's

Hill or how soe ver otherwise the said lot piece or parcel of

land and hereditament s may lie or be or be described And the

mes sua ge or tenement and all and singular other erections

and buildings erect ed and built standing or being on the said

land Toget her also with all ways rights privileges easements

commodities and appurtenances to the said land and heredita-

ments or any part the re of bel onging or appertaining or with

the same or any part thereof now or heretofore held used

occupied or enjoyed And all the estate right title and in-

terest of the said Vincent John Stanton of in or to the same

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said land messuage buildings heredita-

ments and premises to the said Lord Bishop of Victoria and his

successors To the use of the said Lord Bishop and his success-

ors for ever To the end and intent that the said land messuage

buildings hereditament s and premises together with all such

further and other erections and buildings as may at any time

hereafter be erected and built thereon may be held used and

employed by the said Lord Bishop of Victoria and his successors

for the purpose of a Missionary Institution at Hong Kong to be

called and known as Saint Paul's College and to be regulated by

the Statutes which have been previous to the date and execution
